Independent Book Authors in the Metropolitan Area
The Ladies of the Dove Literary Festival is an annual book fair that is hosted by the Chi Pi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The event is in its 4th year.
The event is being held and hosted by the Chi Pi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Barnes & Noble is not an event host. Barnes & Noble Savannah serves as a sponsor and the book vendor for the event
Vending Fee $135.00
The vendor fee allows you to attend the event as a Participating Author and promote your books at the event. Depending on space, you will receive either a half or full table. Remember, books will be sold via B&N and will be maintained in a central location, so there will not be a great need for table space in front of authors with the exception of display copies of your book(s). No display banners will be allowed. In addition, you will receive an opportunity to address the crowd via stage during the festival. Your name and/or image may also be included in marketing for the event online, in print, and in the media. Some participants will also receive an interview on the festival’s blogtalk radio show (scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, and subject to availability).
******Interested authors must contact us with their names, titles and ISBN numbers immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org*******
Your books must be in B&N system, even if online, they will be able to scan your ISBN at the event. To be sure, we will submit a list of all authors who indicate interest, and B&N will verify their ability to sell each author’s books at the event.
All books will be sold through B&N at the event. No authors will be permitted to sell their own books or any other products during the event. This will be strictly enforced due to the Oglethorpe Mall and B&N’s policies. B&N will only order books that meet their criteria for book orders which are based on distribution set-up. Authors will receive royalties as per their agreement with their publisher for any books that are ordered by B&N and sold during the event. B&N will not order any books that are Print-On-Demand (POD) or non-returnable.
B&N reserves the right to choose which books they will or will not order. Any author whose books are in the B&N system, but not orderable will need to provide copies of their books to B&N to sell at the event.
B&N agrees to sell these books at a 60/40% split (author gets 60%). At the close of the event, B&N will return any unsold books to the author. The author will receive a check in the mail for the royalties from books sold.
All interest authors will be sent an email notifying them of whether or not they have been approved to participate. Approved authors will be asked to confirm their plans to participate and pay the vendor fee via Paypal within 60 days. We expect to be notified of approvals in October of 2012. Send Paypal payments to: email@example.com
